    • 4-Month timeframe, 3-Day implementation (weekend), Management of planning and preparation, team of 3 sub-contractors, liaison with NWFS staff to ensure smooth roll out of new technology.
    • Delivered on budget, £40K and to customer’s timeframe.
  • Specification, supply and commissioning of 6 new servers for NWFS. Integration of exiting Raid Array technology and hand over of updated system.
  • Supply, commissioning and migration of data and applications to a new Fibre Raid array within NWFS, seamlessly conducted over a single weekend.
  • Consultative and technical involvement with several smaller IT installations in the SME market, including:
    • Complete Windows XP/2K office update for a successful industrial unit re-fit organisation
    • IT systems update and maintenance for a recruitment company
    • Website hosting and IT systems management for a local car dealer
    • Numerous website hosting and development activities for various clients

  • Successful implementation of a new IT infrastructure for an IBM client amalgamating 3 separate companies into a single IT site:
    • 9 Month timeframe, 3-month implementation period, delivered on time and budget. Provided budgetary information for customer.
    • Team of 6 engineers, planning and managing implementation schedule and daily problem management, 60% of time on site.
    • Maintained existing applications and links to parent company and introduced new applications including a WW exchange mail implementation.
  • Designed, developed, tested and delivered a mail management software tool to aid IBM in managing 140,000 users mail files on 140+ mail servers across 41 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA):
    • 2-year time frame, delivered on schedule, Staged implementation over 2 month period, after an extensive 4-month prototype and trial period.
    • Managed teams in 41 countries for local language content implementation, plus local team of 3-5 engineers developing and testing the tool set.
    • Design and specify tool set, scope and specify tool parameters, monitored progress and aided in testing and evaluation.
    • Internal project, no budgetary requirement, but had to account for team time, materials, support and delivery. The project was delivered with an accepted cost of US$150Ko Projected saving per annum using tool set, user reduction on mail space 25Mb. annual saving of US$52M for EMEA alone.
    • Required close links with user groups, support and delivery organisation's, development and management team, regularly reporting to senior EMEA managers.

    • Maintenance and support of IT infrastructure, Network, email and WAN connectivity for both admin and software development, DBA and UNIX support, maintenance of test systems testing of fixes, patches and new releases.

  • Re-design and implement a dual redundant Audax system for HMGCC. Utilise existing VME structure and hardware, include dual redundancy software and hardware, provide new MS Windows interface from PC platform:

    • Provide planning support for accounts.
    • Test and obtain final customer acceptance.
    • Liaise with customer and provide training and support for evaluation period.
  • Develop new generation of VME Volmet. To replace the existing ones at CAA-Heathrow. The Department of Trade, Transport and Communications, Shannon Aeradio, Ireland and an ATIS system for the Italian CAA and the RAF:
    • Implement new development environment using ULTRIX on a Micro VAX 3100 and networked PC based ICE system.
    • New VME hardware using the new MC68020 CPU and rack sys.
    • Provide Liaison for hardware design team.
    • Implement new product using BSO/TASKING tools and Real Time Craft OS.
    • Provide Design methods and procedures based on a Networked PC based YOURDON package.
    • Supervise a team of twelve software engineers through implementation, software and build control and delivery testing.
